Windowed scalogram entropy: wavelet-based tool to analyze the temporal change of entropy of a time series

In this paper, we propose a new entropy calculation method to observe the temporal change of dynamical systems. The proposed is based on windowed scalogram which has been introduced recently. Therefore, name “windowed entropy.” With method, can show evolution Boltzmann–Gibbs–Shannon over time using probability distribution obtained by normalized scalogram. Before applying series with complex dynamics, test reliability some well-defined signals. Then, employ seismic signals and pneumocardiogram demonstrate effectiveness in analysis empirical data.
